Well gateway, I would just like to say, I am where I am in photography because of this club, and all I can say is every one of us was a Winner tonight, every one, and now that I am at that Level, here is what I have to show for it

Thank you Tommy for making the whole shoot happen.  I'm very glad that you found me in the park last year and introduced me to all these talented new friends. It's been a great year and I'm looking forward to an even better one in the fall.

I am so glad I joined the club.  For a change, it is wonderful to meet nice people.

I am so tired (from my day job) of dealing with technicians that do not know what they are doing and then belittle you by telling me I don't know what I am doing. Meanwhile, I have probably (90% chance) been doing my job longer then they've been in the industry.  LOL.  Seriously, 25+ years of support computer systems and networks, I've seen the number of genuinely nice people go drastically down.

It is very refreshing to interact with people in the club who genuinely want to help and teach you.  I am so glad we have such nice members.

Tommy....I can't say enough how great a meeting we had last night.  Robert did a stellar job!!!!  I wish he would teach photography as a college course.  He would make a fine professor.  Thanks Robert!!!!  Remember, next month will be a fun one too with the Metro Herpetalogical Society and all of the reptiles to photograph.  I will find out the exact date.  I hope a lot of all members show.

I hope everyone enjoyed the photo shoot as much as I did.  Shooting at GCS was challenging, creative and fun.  I got a good shot of the musician at the library and relaxing at Bryant Park was the perfect ending to a great shoot. Thanks to Robert for making me aware of "spot metering, thanks to Tommy for putting this together with me and most of all, the members of Gateway photographers for being such a cool bunch of people to hang with.
See you all at the meeting on Wednesday.

What is $40.00 from Brian Taback

So I just wanted to say it was great seeing everyone the other night!  Just loved the warm welcome I got when I walked through the door, lol.

Something for new members & potential members.

I know first hand that photography schools can start at around $800.  If you want one on one lessons it could be $100 per hour!
Now think of getting hands on classes, learning your camera inside & out, learning from people who want to teach and want you to get better.  Think of competitions, where you are judged by well respected photographers & others in the industry.  Think of the lectures we have on photography and how much is charged at other places.  Think of the photo excursions, that people pay $100's to go on. By the time you add this all up, you are paying $1000's to learn.

Here at Gateway you get it all and then some for $40 dues.  You may ask yourself, will I really learn at this club.  I can tell you first hand, you WILL!  I have been shooting for years and I still learn at the club, no one is ever above learning new techniques. Just about everyone can bring something to the table.

So you can go out and spend the $1000's to learn if it makes you feel better, but i would rather spend $40 and learn more, and use the savings of $960 on new camera equipment!

So save your money and join the club, and don't forget your dues will allow you to see me every Wednesday which is way worth more than $40.00!!!

I am so happy I joined Gateway Photography Club! This year I got to make new friends that share my passion for photography and further develop my skills.

The competitions kept me motivated and the lessons sharpened my knowledge. Everyone has always been so helpful and nice!

Thank you so much for all the wonderful trips and memories and I look forward to next season!

I agree with Louise 1000%, we really have a wonderful and talented club.

I had such a great time at the dinner last night.  Everything worked out so well. . . . your emcee-ing (sp?), the presentation of the awards by our members, Marianne's slide show, Johnny's technical expertise, and the list goes on.

Special thanks go to you, Lois and Louise for all your hard work on pulling everything together.

What a wonderful night!!!
Have a great summer,
